ASIA: Ho Lands Top Singapore Golf Association Role

POSTED ON August 6, 2022 @ 4:21 pm

Joshua Ho has been appointed to the role of General Manager at the Singapore Golf Association (SGA).

The appointment of the former national team player became effective as of July 1.

Ho joined the SGA as High Performance Manager in 2019 after graduating from the Singapore Management University (SMU) with a Bachelor of Business Management.

In August, 2021 he was named as Acting General Manager.

As an amateur golfer, Ho represented Singapore from 2009 to 2019. His notable achievements include clinching a gold medal in the team event at the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in 2017.

The following year he was honoured as being a Meritorious Awardee of the Singapore Sports Awards.

Tan Chong Huat, President of SGA, said: “Joshua is a testament of the succession planning under our former President Ross (Tan). He was in the team of our former General Manager, Jerome Ng, and learned the ropes under Jerome, who has since taken on a director role with The R&A.

“Joshua has been contributing to, and will continue to be a great asset for the SGA and our golfing community in his new position as General Manager.”

As the General Manager of the national body of golf in Singapore, Ho will be responsible for promoting the sport to a larger audience and propelling Singapore golf to greater heights.

Ho said: “The SGA has progressed significantly over the past few years and I am excited to be embarking on this opportunity.

“I look forward to continuing working closely with the golfing fraternity and the wider community to achieve new milestones for Singapore golf under the leadership of SGA’s new President Chong Huat and the Executive Board.”
