VALE: PGA Life Member Jack Harris
The PGA of Australia advised today that PGA Life Member Jack Harris sadly passed away this morning aged 91.
A six time winner of the Victorian PGA Championship, Jack was one of our country’s leading Pros throughout the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
Jack was proudly the Club Professional at Keysborough for 16 years and also spent 15 years at Sorrento during which time he taught thousands of golfers.
Since retiring from golf, Jack’s achievements have been recognised in many ways.
He became a Life Member of PGA in 2001, was inducted into the Victorian Golf Hall of Fame in 2011 and will continue to be honoured each year with the ‘Jack Harris Cup’ awarded to the winner of the annual Victorian PGA Championship.
Outside of his Professional career, Jack served our country in World War 2 and will be remembered as a generous man who made a positive impact on the lives of many.
