Castrisos steps down from Golf QLD Board
The Chairman of Golf Queensland, Peter Castrisos, has stepped down from his role of nine years’ as a Director of the State association.
Castrisos is taking up a new position on the Board of Golf Australia, and will be replaced by David Brett as the new Chair after serving as a delegate for Golf Queensland for the past five years.
David is a member of the Redland Bay Golf Club and Head of Corporate and Corporate Property Qld at the National Australia Bank Limited. He has been a member of the Golf Queensland Board since 2012.
During his time at Golf Queensland, Castrisos was instrumental in the organisation’s development since the inaugural Board established in 2007, something David Brett paid tribute to.
“Peter has contributed countless hours of his time and expertise to the Queensland golf industry,” Mr Brett said.
“During his time with Golf Queensland, and particularly as Chair, he has been a strong advocate for bringing the Queensland golf industry together through reinforcing and cementing our relationships with key stakeholders including Districts and Clubs.”
“Further to this, he enhanced Golf Queensland’s services and operations through new initiatives such as the Club Support and Development Program,” Mr Brett continued.
“And significantly, he was the driving force behind the re-establishment of the Queensland Open tournament after a five year absence from the Queensland golfing calendar.”
“On behalf of the Board and staff of Golf Queensland I would like to thank Peter for his support and wish him the best in his new role at Golf Australia.”
